This is the spirit of who I am -- a collection of my most personal songs.

These are special recordings, little gems to me. The album has been described as beautiful, soothing, and expansive. You will hear guitar, piano, occasional voice, and a few surprises. This album was about capturing the spark of the soul, and you’ll hear that on every track.

Some of the tracks on this album are recordings I've saved for years, waiting for a day where I could produce them into final songs. A few guitar tracks were recorded as far back as 1995 using a 4-track tape recorder. In fact, the album's final song, Finale 7, is my earliest recorded song.

The piano tracks on the album were recorded in 2001 using a handheld micro-cassette recorder not meant for music (but that tape recorder did the job in a very interesting way nevertheless).

And a few tracks on the album were recorded as recently as this year, meaning this album actually spans 25 years of my life.

The original analog recordings were noisy and full of imperfection, and even sort of warped in many places. But this turned out to be very interesting musically. So rather than re-record the music I decided to produce it as is -- I wanted to keep the spark of the original recordings intact.

These are the songs I recorded while no one was looking, little snippets of musical phrases that I knew to keep. I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to capture the original recordings and that they survived all these years -- and that I have finally produced and released these songs of my soul.
